II. Fight in the Lists with Spear and Sword in Full Armor

Hie gat er In den schrancken. – Der tregt Im sin Zug vor.

Here they are in the lists. – This one carries his equipment before him.

Hie sitzent sie beid Im schrancken und wartent des anlas und hat yeder sin bär hinder Im und sin grieswarten vor Im.

Here they both sit in the lists and await the commencement and each has his litter behind him and his attendant before him.

Hie sint sie angelauszen und stat der in der versatzung für den schutz. – Der will schiessen mit dem spies.

Here they begin and they stand in their guards against the throw (of the spear). – This one means to throw the spear.

Der hat geschossen. – Der schusz ist versetzt.

This one throws. – The throw is displaced.

Das versetzen für den schlag. – Der anlouff mit dem Mordtschlag.

The displacement against the cut. – The charge-in with the "Murder-stroke."

Usz der versatzung hinweg stossen. – Der haut den straich volbracht.

From the displacement, thrust away. – This one hews the stroke completely.
